JOB DESCRIPTION
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc — Dwangwa Estate, situated 60 Kilometres north of Nkhotakota District invites applications from suitably qualified applicants to fill the above position in the Agriculture Division.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma in Civil Engineenng of Advanced Craft Certificate in Building Constructon or equivalent
3-5 years’ experience in Irrigation Civils Construction and Maintenance
A minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience in a heavy construction industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for.
Controlling and monitoring all civils maintenance contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Managing the repair and maintenance of canal network, irrigation pump stations and area office civil infrastructure.
Ordering, managing and maintaining equipment and stock required for canal maintenance and controlling materials issued to prevent wastage and abuse
Providing teams with necessary tools and equipment to perform work effectively
Providing input into best practices, frameworks and minimum standards within the function and providing additional opportunities for problem identification and knowledge sharing.
Conducting on the job training and instruction on various aspects of civils Maintenance and identifying training requirements where appropriate
Promoting and adhering to Illovo’s procedures. policies and guidelines.
