A Lilongwe based upcoming artist known as Thom Ernest whose real name is Ernest Pondani, (Thom happens his Father's name and in his honor he added his [father] name on his) set to release the new song titled "Zakuno" which he featured the artist known as *Jiya".
Thom Earnest is a local musician with a beautiful background in studies and passion in music. Thom Earnest did his secondary education at Likuni Boy's Secondary school (Liboss), then he was selected to 'Bunda College of Agriculture ', now Luanar to do Bsc in Agribusiness Management. Little did he know that the future had other plans for him, he got a scholarship to do a BA Political Science (Honours) degree from Delhi University ,Ramjas College in India.
In which currently he is doing my Masters of Arts In Politics (With specialisation in International Relations). Apart from this, Thom Earnest is a holder of a diploma in United Nations Studies and International Understanding. He was born on 29 of July 1997.
Thom Earnest feels like there was not a time he began doing music but believe it has always been in him. Talking to our reporter he said that "It goes beyond my memory as to when i began to do music, it feels like it has always been in me ever since". Thom Earnest loves playing guitar and composing his music as part of putting everything he can in his career, unlikely most of upcoming artists him believes that for him to work hard then effort and dedication is needed.
Thom Earnest's journey as an upcoming artist has been partly great regardless of challenges that are common in most of upcoming artists, he has been given a chance to perform couple of times and because of his hard work he never disappoint, "It's always a pleasure to see others happy when I perform in front of them, and most importantly it's so satisfying" he said. There has been times he has been willing to quit music but then he felt that music is in him and you do not quit something that is already in you.
As an upcoming musician, his plans are to become a great artist by putting in great work in his fans' satisfaction also to be responsible and impactful human being.
Thom Earnest great wish is to see Malawi music industry growing and going international with it's own vibe and not copying from what other countries are doing already, as a person who has travelled outside Malawi he has experienced how other countries works when it comes to music and it's all about their own feel and not as we doing locally.
People should expect a lot from Thom Earnest and first he is dropping a new song on 19th July 2019 which will also be available on Malawi Tunes website.
