She is a widow who lives in Mombasa Kenya who worked as a laundry woman before the lockdown.
However due to the outbreak of covid19 pandemic, she was not able to have customers again and as a result could no longer raise enough money for feeding.
On April 28, as she watched her children crying of hunger, she was forced to boil stones so as to trick her children that food is almost ready, hoping that they would fall asleep while expecting the food.
However things did not workout well as they did not sleep, but a neighbor who heard the cry of the children went over to see what was going on.
According to the neighbor, she heard the children cries and rushed to check on the matter, only to find out that their mother was boiling stones for the children.
The neighbor shared the woman story and the story made it to the local and international media.
The widow was interviewed by Kenya's NTV and this prompted donations from a number of people. The widow said she did not believe people would come to her rescue the way they did, she thought everything was just a miracle.
