His name is Noel Stern Liffa. He joined athletics in 2018 and since then he has always been
position 1 in the national athletics. He has 7 gold medals for national track and field; 3 fors
200Metres, 3 for 100Metres and 1 for long jump. The remaining for gold medals are for relay races.
He has been unbeaten since the very first day he started his career in the Malawian local scene.
He has participated in international competitions like the Gaborone International where he got to
position 1 in his category. On this day he also broke Malawi’s 200M Estorn Kaonga record in 1978
in New Zealand from 21.89 seconds to 21.75 seconds. He also partook in the All African Games
event that took place in Morocco, where he finished 4th in all heats of 100Metres and 200metres. In
these competitions he also broker another of Estorn Kaonga’s record from 10.85 seconds to 10.79
seconds. He then went to Botswana where he broke his own record on 200Metres from 21.75
seconds to 21.31 seconds.
Liffa then partook in the world championships held in Qatar where he finished 3rd on the 100Metres
heat and he happened to break his own record again from 10.79 seconds to 10.71 seconds.
Apparently the athlete says that the poor performance in the international competitions was as a
result of lack/poor training since he was busy with school around those same periods.
In his Qatar competition he caught the attention of USA citizen who has been nagging him about
going to the USA but he is unable to do so because of school.
