The Road To Sunrise

Shemu Joyah's third film: THE ROAD TO SUNRISE. Exploited by men and ridiculed by the world, two young women, Rubia and Watipa, learn to rely on each other as they struggle to survive in the rough, unforgiving townships of Blantyre, Malawi. When Rubia develops an unlikely love affair with a naive young man and then has a tragic confrontation with a rich businessman, the women begin their uncertain journey towards emancipation.
