Raphael who comes from Namputu village T/A chikumbu in Mulanje district start reciting poems when he was in standard 5. Chala changa and kwathu mkonkuno are some of the famous poems that was released after May, 2014 Malawi general elections. He has several poems like kuteteza kotsalako, mulanje, misala just mention few. The famous and multi-talented Chala Changa poet Raphael Mlakatuli Sitima is preparing to shoot poemusic videos that will be in his DVD set to be released. The mult-talented poet is going to be recording his new poems together with the songs that will be used us background sounds for the recorded poems. I have stopped the old style of recording my poems to poemusic, the songs to be used as background sound will be composed based on the concept of the poem being recorded and this has to be done together, he said. The likely to be featured famous and talented music artists are NESNES, Smacks ,Original Passenger and Malala. The audios will be recorded by Gaffar studio and NESNES while video shooting will be done by Sukez and VJ Kens.
The DVD which will have 10 video poems will be about love, good governance, gospel and many social related issues. Raphael said, I have prepared much and involved a lot of talented people and changed the touch of my poetry from the touch i was doing to Poemusic which is one way of rebranding my work and people should expect good video poems, in the past Raphael has been releasing audios and later videos which he feels it was not getting to people's attention since they had already created the concepts of the videos to be released in their minds which in turn differs from what is actually released.
