Malawi the flames yesterday has defeated Comoros Island 2-1 in COSAFA plate in a match played at Princess Magogo stadium in the city of Durban-South Africa.

Flames got their first goal in 29 minutes through hardcore stricker Richard Mbulu with assist from John CJ Banda to make the flames to rule the first half with a 1-0 lead.

Comoros came with a counter attack game in the second half no wonder they got their goal in the 69 munite to level it 1-1. In the70 and 75 munite Flames Coach made substitutions to fire up the team in order to get the victory.. Precious Sambani and Richard Mbulu were both substituted respectively, Chawanangwa Kaonga and Peter Banda were let in.

Chikoti Chirwa made Malawians to smile again when he scored the second goal in the 90 munite to put the flames on a  2-1 lead. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Malawi the flames to qualify for the plate finals.

Speaking after the match coach for flames Meke Mwase, commended his boys for a job well done and fighting spirit. "I must commend my boys for the fighting spirt they showed on this game, the match was so tough for us but we managed to get through it". He said

Flames is to face South Africa in the COSAFA Plate finals. South Africa defeated Uganda on its earier Semifinal game in the post penalties after it ended 1-1 in 90 munites.
