"I started acting when i was 5 years old my father had a video camera and he made us act roles from school books" says  Catherine Mlenga a young Lilongwe based actress. she says her journey in acting started years back when she was taking the role of Mary mother of Jesus in the all time popular Christmas play. She then set for great acting roles and got involved in drama competitions such as ATEM and worked with theatres like Don Bosco arts theatre. In 2012 Catherine took her acting career to the next level when she stepped in front of the camera where she featured in different music videos of the likes of Skeffa Chimoto’s fupa lolakakamiza and Manton ft Sirene’s ndinyamule just to mention a few.
Catherine is mostly involved with Satellite productions, and working on a number of deals with Animal Lab entertainment.
she is currently working on different short films and feature movies with Tannah mr broken English, Satellite production, animal Lab entertrtainment, and massive productions that will be released soon. She describes herself as someone who is flexible to accommodate change that makes it easy for her manage time as she says this helps her to know what, when and how to do a task at hand. 
Apart from acting, our dear Catherine is a social entrepreneur, a professional marketer working as the communications and marketing manager for kuwala creatives, and a part time marketer for Prince trade. Catherine Mlenga is also an event host and brand promoter. 
Catherineadores the likes of Lilly Banda, Flora Suya, Joyce Yhone for the efforts they put in their acting careers and the Malawian film industry as a whole. she also reveals to us that for some reason she likes Yhone Nelson from Ghana and Genevieve for the way they interpret their roles, she continues to say Meaghan Good, Lupita Nyongo and Idris Elba really inspire her. 
The Lilongwe based multi-talented young lady admits that making a film is too complex and it requires a lot of money and technical expertise which is very big problem in the Malawian film industry. She encourages her fellow actors and actresses that for entertainment industry in Malawi to develop they should create a strategy put in the work because talent alone is not enough, hard work plus talent is the bomb.
Her words to fellow Malawians are that the biggest secret in life is that there is no secret, whatever your goal is you can get there if you put in the work and effort.
The multi-talented young lady has worked with SATELLITE Productions on  movies like ENTITY and CAROLINE.
